Deep Tissue Massage

Deep tissue massage is more than just massage with deep pressure.  It targets the deeper layers of muscle and fascia to give longer lasting relief of pain and chronic patterns of tension as well as break up scar tissue and muscle adhesion.  While deep tissue massage can be very deep if needed it is not really about the pressure; it’s about the technique, precision and working the right layers to get the best results.  It is designed to counteract harmful muscle imbalances that result in poor body posture.  With the repetitiveness of occupation and daily activities, pain occurs due to imbalances created by overuse of some muscles and underuse of others.  Deep tissue massage usually focuses on a specific problem, such as chronic muscle pain, injury rehabilitation, limited mobility and/or posture issues.

Cranial sacral

Craniosacral therapy is a gentle, hands-on technique that works with the soft tissue structures of the body and the flow of cerebrospinal fluid between the head and the base of the spine.  The therapist uses holding and light traction to listen to the body’s subtle rhythms and affect the circulation of cerebrospinal fluid to allow the body to relax and self-correct.  It is especially effective for integrating physical and emotional traumas, relieving tension in the central nervous system and helping with conditions like ADD/ADHD, anxiety and depression, autism, brain and spinal cord trauma, concussion and traumatic brain injury, migraines, motor-coordination impairments, infant and childhood disorders, chronic fatigue, fibromyalgia, TMJ, scoliosis and many other conditions.

Pre-natal massage

Prenatal massage helps expectant mothers adapt to the changes in their bodies as their baby grows.   It can also help prepare the mother for a more successful delivery and recovery process.  Prenatal massage is safe for all stages of pregnancy.  It can reduce and alleviate neck, shoulder, back and joint pain, sciatica, muscle weakness and tension, and ease the strain of extra weight and imbalance caused by prenatal posture changes. Studies indicate that massage therapy performed during pregnancy can reduce anxiety, decrease symptoms of depression, increase circulation, relieve muscle aches, joint pains and improve labor outcomes and newborn health.  We use a comfortable side-lying position to create optimal comfort and to minimize pressure on the abdomen or strain to the uterine ligaments.  Please consult your doctor if you are considered a high-risk pregnancy before scheduling your massage.
